Unveiled Bridal Designs
Right when birdcage veils were starting to become popular in mid-2007, Dorene was right there with her art. She makes custom veils in many popular styles. Check out Gwen here – she was one of my juxtaposition girls. (That photo, as colorful and classy as it looks, was taken outside Lanes ‘n’ Games in Alewife!)
Yummy Mummy Brownies
Anne and Alex brought some brownies over as a housewarming gift and… yum! They’re delicious and indulgent. I almost felt guilty eating more than one within the week. What a fantastic gift for your bridal party or wedding guests. And definitely the best brownie website I have ever seen!
Vacation Bound
Doreen Boisvert is a travel consultant based out of Nashua, NH. She works at Vacation Bound. I met Doreen last night at last night’s Women’s Business Network, and she’s a peach. For those of you planning vacations or honeymoons in new places, having someone on your side who can find deals and share wisdom can make a big difference in the experience.
Sarah Bortner
I can’t stop raving about Sarah and her skill in styling hair. She’s been working with me for photo shoots and is skilled beyond belief. She’s also coming out with her own line of bridal hair accessories… I can’t wait to see! Contact Sarah for a trial run of your wedding hair (she’s at Athena Salon on Boylston). mybighairday.com
Life Design Events
Phoenix-based Cicely Rocha-Miller is a wedding and event planner who has style, intelligence, and a whole lotta good ideas. I am looking forward to meeting up with her in Phoenix in the next couple of days, hopefully to do a shoot together. Life Design Events.
Blue Orchid Designs
I don’t know much about these gals, but I really like their vendor hiring guide. It’s thoughtful and well-written and brings up a lot of things other “lists” forget or decide not to include. Blue Orchid Designs Wedding Vendor Hiring Guide.
in the “not a vendor, but AWESOME” category we have:
Boston Derby Dames
I met with Alison, who is kind of a big deal with the Boston Derby Dames. They look awesome! I can’t wait to get to go to one of the shows.
Check them out this weekend at the Town Fair Tire World of Wheels auto show at the Bayside Expo Center (JFK stop on the MBTA red line) - free scrimmages on Friday at 7 pm, Saturday at 2 and 7 pm, and Sunday at 2 and 5 pm. “Dames will be on hand to autographs and preach the awesomeness of women’s flat-track roller derby, and we’ll be screening footage from last season.”
Boston Alternative Health
Rebecca Ong-Sutherland has moved locations again, and this time she’s in Copley Square. How convenient! Check out Boston Alternative Health for all sorts of medical needs from an alternative perspective. Rebecca is one of those people who has figured out what she wants to do with her life and is pursuing it with enthusiasm. I love her presence and energy.
