Kristen & Fred – the film
January 12, 2010
It’s been difficult to get much work done since we moved out of the studio and away from Massachusetts, but things are slowly settling in for the final few steps for 2010 wedding projects.
One of my favorite items that has to sit in the “slow cooker” is a film project — after the roll is finished, I have to mail in the film and then WAIT to get the developed and scanned work back from my lab. In our digital culture, it’s a nice little pause in the worklflow that reminds me not everything is – or should be – instant.

Kristen and Fred worked a lot of portrait time into their wedding day, which was nice and sunny — we were able to get some charming, delightful analog images using film in holga cameras.

I especially love the “mistake” images from the holga 120 – I didn’t roll the film enough between frames so some of the frames overlap for a cool partial double exposure effect.
