imperfect perfection | LOVE SHOOT promo #2 | holga
July 26, 2009
It’s time for another love session promotion! Shooting at Maggie and Seth’s wedding with my holga was incredibly inspiring and I am eager to try out this toy camera in some different settings.
So, I am pleased to offer another complimentary LOVE SHOOT promotion. This is for a photo session shot entirely on film with a toy camera. Winner would get a photo session at the interesting outdoor location or event of their choice and a full set of prints to display or share.
- this promotion is for a couple of any age in a committed relationship; marital/engagement status inconsequential
- other photographers and artist-types are encouraged to enter
- location must be within 2 hours driving distance of Lowell, MA
- due to the limitations in the camera, location for session must be outdoors and results are not guaranteed
- three runners-up will be offered the option of doing the same session at materials cost (around $50)
To enter yourself as a hopeful winner to the promotion, please leave a comment with a note about the location you would like to photograph and why you think this would be a fun or interesting environment for a film-based love shoot – or email me at LOVE@mergeweddings.com

Oh! My gentleman uses found wood and photo transfers to make his art–the beautiful colors would look amazing. So, it doesn’t matter where we took the photos-but the combination of your skill and his art would just be lovely. (And you could have a lovely wood souvenir of the day!)

This sounds so fun! I love the look of art & sculpture on film (art within art?) and we’d both love to get a chance to wander around DeCordova with you and take pictures among the sculptures and trees.

I will always have a special place in my heart for Bay State Road, and the walk by the Charles River. Especially in the fall and spring, they have an absolutely magical quality around dusk (a time of day when anything can happen). Of course, as a former BU student, a lot of things did happen there, so they are full of memories. I met my dreamy boyfriend at the BU pub, and I know the Castle (which is where the Pub is located) would be awesome-looking through the toy camera. For us, this would be an almost literal trip down memory lane… and we’d buy everyone booze at the end of it, you know, for the authenticity…

Portsmouth NH would be fabulous using the HOLGA! You get small town new england, with fabulous alleyways and architecture, prescott park, strawberry banke and the ocean in a 10 minute walking distance!!!
I also have this crazy desire to do a Night Shoot for these type of “LOVE” photos but I don’t think the Holga is the right tool for that crazy notion…but Boston landmarks at night could be so fun…I digress….

Oh man, I’d love to have some pictures of me and my honey at York’s Wild Animal Kingdom. It’s quintessential New England and full of hokey rides and amuesments. My husband is an aspiring photographer and he’d thoroughly enjoy the shoot with holga!

Two weeks ago, my husband and I bought our first home. We have two little girls, an almost-3 year old and a one year old I would love for you to come and shoot us as a family here…it’s never been done before! We don’t have a single picture of us as a family in our home yet. I guess the bonus challenge is trying to pin down the toddlers for a shot while they try to steal your “toy” camera! I never realized how much my life felt like camping before we bought this home but it’s the best feeling in the world to be able to give this to our girls.
Another bonus: we took down the football-sized wasps nest out front. Ha ha!

Today we hiked at Winnekenni Castle in Haverhill. We’d love to be king and queen of the castle at a photo shoot!

Come hang out with us in Hartford, CT! We have pretty areas like Elizabeth Park, Bushnell Park, and the state capitol building (surprisingly!), and the surrounding areas range from posh downtown to more…modest areas. Great for an “urban” feel. =)
Side note: can’t wait to see your shots from L&J’s wedding!
