We’re so excited to be bringing our very popular hotel boudoir sessions back to Boston, MA and Rhode Island.

Dates: September 22-October 9, 2010

Location: hotel, studio, or your own home (Boston, MA and Providence, RI)

COST: $300+

We have several spots available each day of the hotel promotion (September 30-October 3). To reserve your preferred date and time, email carol@mergeweddings.com and ask any questions you might have. Friends wanting to book out three slots in one day will each receive an additional $100 product credit (hotel or individual sessions).

October is always a busy month for me! I’m one of those photographers who, despite large monetary bribes, will not shoot past November… so I end up with glorious Autumn weddings and portrait sessions taking up every spare moment.

Thinking forward to the holidays, I always laugh at how many people forget about holiday greetings until a few days before vacation and end up with the last minute “quick, grab a snapshot from summer! then rush to Walgreens and get prints made!” cards – I’ve seen quite a few over the years.  Ah, we zealous Americans.

If you’re NOT a procrastinator, and want to get in on the fun, professional photo session action this year with your new husband, your new pet, or others you hold dear, consider booking one of our early holiday portrait sessions. August seems to be a popular month for all of you September and October brides to get your boudoir on! Due to the high demand, I’ve opened up my only two free weekends to accommodate the requests. We only shoot a few sessions per day so every woman gets our very best creative energy but I’ll list all the possible spots so you can choose the one that best fits your schedule.

Our hybrid hotel rate includes light styling and a funky hotel suite for the shoot. It’s time for another love session promotion! Shooting at Maggie and Seth’s wedding with my holga was incredibly inspiring and I am eager to try out this toy camera in some different settings.

So, I am pleased to offer another complimentary LOVE SHOOT promotion. This is for a photo session shot entirely on film with a toy camera. Winner would get a photo session at the interesting outdoor location or event of their choice and a full set of prints to display or share.

• this promotion is for a couple of any age in a committed relationship; marital/engagement status inconsequential
• other photographers and artist-types are encouraged to enter
• location must be within 2 hours driving distance of Lowell, MA
• due to the limitations in the camera, location for session must be outdoors and results are not guaranteed

• three runners-up will be offered the option of doing the same session at materials cost (around $50)

The past month we have been traveling nonstop – every weekend a new location and a new event! I’ve done weddings in Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, Maine, Massachusetts, and California recently. This weekend we’re headed out to Chicago to be guests at a wedding and then we’re off to eastern Europe!

I’ll be back in the office on Monday and Tuesday (July 27 and 28) doing minimal administrative work while packing for Europe, then from Wednesday, July 29 through Friday, August 7 I will be offline and having adventures abroad in Bulgaria. Any print orders placed during this time will have an inadvertent extra 7 day delay in fulfillment.

So you love jeans and you’re always on the hunt for that perfect-fitting pair? For a feature story to be published in our Fall Fashion issue, the Boston Globe Magazine is looking for four Boston area women to try on new jeans for fall and model the type that best suits their body shape. Participants will visit the jeans store we designate for a fitting with a jeans expert between July 15 and July 20 and return to the store to be photographed between July 21 and 28.

If you’d like us to consider you for participation, please

1. Email us two full-body photos of yourself (head to toe) facing front and in profile (for our use only; not for publication)
2. In the same email, tell us your name, age, occupation, height, and town of residence (all for publication)
3. Give us an idea of when you’re available to visit the store (which weeknights/weekdays and weekends)
4. Tell us a little about the specific fit or figure issue you’d like the jeans expert to address (info for publication):
   Examples might include: Minimize my stomach, hips or thighs; flatter a full or flat behind; lengthen my legs or make me look taller; balance a top-heavy or bottom-heavy figure, etc.
