Hey guys! I just wanted to throw it out there that I’ve been suffering from some sort of repetitive stress injury in my wrists this week. Despite the fact that I spend more time with my computer than anything else, this is the first time in my life something like this wrist injury has happened (aside from some issues with my jaw back when I was a classical flautist).
I spent a couple of days at the beginning of this week heroically answering all of the piled up email inquiries; this probably didn’t help the condition.
The thing that hurts the most is writing (ironic that I am blogging about it… slowly, with a brace)… so if you have sent me an email in that has not been answered, or have a question or want to schedule a shoot, feel free to give me a call at 857-233-0810.

We have one last opportunity to get in on a reduced rate Boudoir hotel session this year*! We’re planning a special day of mini-sessions on Sunday, November 2 (with a few slots on Saturday, November 1 if there’s enough interest) at a hotel in the Boston area.
These are unlike our other sessions and aimed specifically at giving a special gift of one or two photos to your man for Christmas this year, whether you are married or not yet. These mini holiday sessions are ideal for women who have been through a full boudoir experience with us previously, or bold women who are up for some hilarious and fun photos. Since each session is so short and lacks the normal ‘warm up’ time, this holiday mini session is probably not for girls on the shyer side who are hesitant about the idea of boudoir… you should schedule an individual session with us for lots of time and attention.
Here are the details:
- Session fee of $125 includes light styling during the shoot.
- Location is a hotel in the Boston area.
- One outfit for the shoot.
- Each session will be 20 minutes long (you can buy two slots if you want an extra ‘look’).
- Session fee includes a sexy 5×7″ holiday card with the image of your choice.
- Seasonal wear and holiday trappings are highly encouraged.
- Email rachel@mergeweddings.com to sign up for a slot.
- Sunday 11:30 am
- Sunday 12:00pm
- Sunday 12:30pm
- Sunday 1:30pm
- Sunday 2:00pm
- Sunday 2:30pm
- Sunday 3:00pm
- Sunday 3:30pm
- Sunday 4:30pm
- Sunday 5:00pm
- Sunday 5:30pm
- Sunday 6:00pm
I know a lot of you girls are very organized and someone may want to coordinate splitting another room at the same hotel (between 10 girls that’s something around $15 extra) for moral support, cocktails and snacks, and a place to warm up to the idea that you’ll be in front of a camera. If that sounds like something you’re up for, email me with the timeslot you want and we’ll talk about the extra perk of being the coordinator.
*We’re still taking a limited number of individual sessions, with the full experience (2 hours, 3-4 outfits, lots of photos and lots of attention) as the holidays approach. Email for scheduling and be sure to ask about the full mergeweddings boudoir experience!
RHODE ISLAND women: we just secured a room at brand new, hott little boutique Hotel NYLO in Providence/Warwick RI (one hour southwest of Boston). We have just a couple of slots at $350 each for full individual sessions on Saturday, October 4.

Rachel,
I haven’t looked at the gallery yet. But I needed to share this with you…
I was slightly disappointed when I got my sneak peek last night because I couldn’t see my face in my picture and I really couldn’t wait to get the rest. This morning J. and I exchanged sneak peeks and I was jealous she got 2 previews! Then I realized your logo was on one of hers and went back to look at mine. The one with your logo I thought was just a plug for your business and I totally didn’t realize it was ME! I totally teared up when I realized it. Its beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for a better gift. What you just did for me in that one moment is, in my opinion, the reason us girls do this. You are amazing.

I do so love them! There were a few in particular that made me gasp, stop, and almost say out loud “I am so pretty!” - what a gift YOU and TRICIA give. Thank you!
I can’t WAIT to see these in “real life.” This has been such an incredible experience. Some of my closest girlfriends know I had this session and I am encouraging them all to do a session with you.

“Thank you again so much for making a shy girl feel good about herself and having it come through in these photos. I know my husband is going to love them and I can’t wait to share them with him on our anniversary! Please also thank Tricia for me as well, she is wonderful and you guys make a great team!” -S
“OH MY …. - AM I REALLY THAT HOT??!! I am floored! They are amazing! I don’t think I am going to be able to pick!”

I love to hear the feedback from our girls when they see their session galleries for the first time. It’s really entertaining, because all along we’re telling them how beautiful they look, but they NEVER believe us until they see the photos. Boudoir girls, you’re silly.

Thank you SO MUCH to those who I’ve been working with to schedule bridal sessions for the juxtaposition project. I’ve only released two edits out of the four we’ve shot so far, and already everyone seems to love the work. And those of you who have helped on the session, pointed people in my direction, and sent words of feedback and encouragement (you know who you are)… I LOVE YOU.
I have been making the first girls wait a bit while I get things in order, but now I am pleased to announce that the final design is in. I hired James Kershaw to design a graphic to work as a standalone and to layer over the juxtaposition photos… for display and for the BOOK PROJECT… and he did a fantastic job. I look forward to using this beautiful graphic.

Between weddings, travel, bridal shoots, and Boston boudoir photography, I am now completely booked solid until late September. I won’t be taking any new commissions until after I am back in the states and settled back after two weeks in Manchester, England for a wedding in August. September is a month of constant travel (Phoenix, Minneapolis, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, Long Island). Of note: it will be my first time in Minnesota.
I’d like to get together a few Phoenix boudoir sessions when I am there (September 21-26). Anyone know anyone out there?
As for the future, let’s just say Hawaii is on the books for December, and I’m already thinking about a very special boudoir project involving naughty santa goods in November. Candy canes and Santa hats, anyone?
And… I’d love to do a gallery installation with images from the juxtaposition project. I am working on a proposal right now.

I’m working on scheduling girls for the bridals project right now, which is tough with my wedding, boudoir photography, and travel schedules… but I got the best email a minute ago from one of my girls and this kind of thing makes everything worthwhile:
YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!
Oh, Rachel, I’m SO excited. Meeting you has been so good for me, my soul, my happiness, my relationship (I can’t WAIT to see his face when I surprise him with your [boudoir] album and beautiful artistic photos!!!), my confidence– my LIFE. You = so awesome, I can’t even begin to tell you.

My husband LOVED the album and dvd. I gave him the album on our wedding night. He was totally speechless… the only words he could manage to say were, “Oh my God, you are SO beautiful.” I showed him the DVD on the first night of our honeymoon. I’m SO glad I ordered the DVD! He watched it every night of our honeymoon!
Thanks so much to you and Tricia (he thanks you too!)!

M is getting married in Jamaica in July and commissioned a boudoir session. She was the first to be in my new studio location and I am thrilled at how natural and beautiful the light stays all day. These two that she gave me permission to post are treated to look funky… but we got an entire slew of really natural, fresh images I am sure he will love!
