Thank you SO MUCH to those who I’ve been working with to schedule bridal sessions for the juxtaposition project. I’ve only released two edits out of the four we’ve shot so far, and already everyone seems to love the work. And those of you who have helped on the session, pointed people in my direction, and sent words of feedback and encouragement (you know who you are)… I LOVE YOU.

I have been making the first girls wait a bit while I get things in order, but now I am pleased to announce that the final design is in. I hired James Kershaw to design a graphic to work as a standalone and to layer over the juxtaposition photos… for display and for the BOOK PROJECT… and he did a fantastic job. I look forward to using this beautiful graphic.

Between weddings, travel, bridal shoots, and Boston boudoir photography, I am now completely booked solid until late September. I won’t be taking any new commissions until after I am back in the states and settled back after two weeks in Manchester, England for a wedding in August. September is a month of constant travel (Phoenix, Minneapolis, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, Long Island). Of note: it will be my first time in Minnesota.

I’d like to get together a few Phoenix boudoir sessions when I am there (September 21-26). Anyone know anyone out there?

As for the future, let’s just say Hawaii is on the books for December, and I’m already thinking about a very special boudoir project involving naughty santa goods in November. Candy canes and Santa hats, anyone?

And… I’d love to do a gallery installation with images from the juxtaposition project. I am working on a proposal right now.

I’m working on scheduling girls for the bridals project right now, which is tough with my wedding, boudoir photography, and travel schedules… but I got the best email a minute ago from one of my girls and this kind of thing makes everything worthwhile:

I so enjoyed going through the photos from Jaimie and Jeff’s May 31 Boston wedding at Park Street Church. Those two are fantastic together, and show a huge range of expressions. I especially appreciate Jeff’s ability to go from calm and serious to goofy. Check out the carriage ride photos for some great interaction! Here’s one of my favorites from the wedding. I love the looks on their faces.

I had a chance to hang out with Jeff and Jaimie tonight at their new fancy schmancy place in Beacon Hill and showed them my ‘artist selects’ (the images that automatically play in the main gallery). I love hearing people’s first reactions to their wedding photos. For Jeff, he said he thinks he looks the best of any photos in his entire life. I consider that quite a compliment. Yay!

I have to throw in a vendor recommendation. Their flowers were beautiful, and what I appreciated the most is that Gregory is completely passionate about his work. He excitedly brought in the bouquets and talked her through the flower choices… talking about how May 31 was right in the middle of the short season for a couple of flowers (’bridal veil’ and another one) so that anytime they see those flowers, they’re theirs. I like Gregory O’Brien and can only assume he puts out consistently wonderful work. My husband LOVED the album and dvd. I gave him the album on our wedding night. He was totally speechless… the only words he could manage to say were, “Oh my God, you are SO beautiful.” I showed him the DVD on the first night of our honeymoon. I’m SO glad I ordered the DVD! He watched it every night of our honeymoon! Thanks so much to you and Tricia (he thanks you too!)!

M is getting married in Jamaica in July and commissioned a boudoir session. She was the first to be in my new studio location and I am thrilled at how natural and beautiful the light stays all day. These two that she gave me permission to post are treated to look funky… but we got an entire slew of really natural, fresh images I am sure he will love!

Another current promo is for girls who want the privacy and attention of an individual session but want a bit of savings, I am offering the group rate ($50 off individual session rate) to anyone who wants to do a boudoir session in their own house or apartment.

Common complaints are: “I don’t know how I would do it without him finding out” and of course “my house is too messy/ not photogenic” — to which I answer that I can make magic happen in just about any space. We need a bed and couch, and a window. That’s it! I bring in studio background equipment and the skill to make the most mediocre place look like a studio. And we schedule when he’s at work and leave the place looking just like it was before. There’s something special about using your own familiar space for something like a boudoir session. To prove it, we’re giving the group rate on a limited basis for in-home sessions.

I just went through my album and I am SO HAPPY with how it turned out!!  I think the pictures all look amazing.  It was exactly the amount of sexiness and class that I was going for.  The album quality is really great! Hi everyone! Just a quick note to let you know that I will be out of state for a few days for my first visit to Wisconsin. Today I am flying into Appleton to visit another photographer friend who has commissioned me to do my first “destination boudoir” session. (That idea makes me giggle a little.) I’ll also be shooting a wedding with Amy and doing some family portraits. It’s a great honor to be chosen by another photographer.
